Re: Biting the bullet - wholesale conversion from 45mm to SM32
LGB, Roundhouse and Accucraft have widen their models to enable 45mm so on 32mm they look not right.
Re: GRS kit?
The saddle tank is not from an LGB Rusty. Its made out of sheets.
The kit is badly assembled. Glue cant bridge the gaps and the parts dont line up. Hence smokebox and cab came apart for the chassis/frame. The Toytrain block is worn out. So the loco will be stored in the loft.

Re: GRS kit?
I cant check as its still in the mail......bought S/H
It definitely has an LGB Toytrain motorblock.

Re: Help - Bending 3mm copper pipe
Fine sand didnt work for me, the sand prohibits bending.
Try bending around a tube or round stock material, 20mm round bar will give a radius about 10mm

IDE is very old 10-15 years last build
Sata 1-2-3- refers only to the data transferspeed. Pinlayout and cables are the same and the drives are downwards compatible so no problems here!

Re: IP Engineering freelance carriages
Ive used rolled metal sheet. Afterwards the sheet needs to be trimmed as the first few mm are "flat" due to the nature of the rolling machine. Soldered lugs on the oposite sides for holding with screw. maybe the best method is to glue the roof to the body and make this detachable from the ...

I replaced my Weiss 210 lathe three months ago with an Optimum 2807V. Its taken me a lot of effort to sort the problems with this lathe. WHY? Optimum sells through dealerships which get their machines from a local or regional importer which gets them from Germany or possibly direct from China. I can...
