Amazingly in the wilds of west, woolly Wales, we had an afternoon of fine weather!
This was particularly nice as I had arranged to visit model builder extraordinaire Peter Butler and have a little steam up.

I took my Pearce Ulysses, Accucraft Carodoc and the first Mamod that fell off the shelf in the shed.

The Mamod was attached to Peters inertia van and crawled around the layout like a snail leaking steam from every orifice. Considering the engine has not run for at least 20 years I was most impressed.

What a grand way to spend a summer arvo! Great location too.

It was a good afternoon, both for the weather and the company. It is a shame there are no other SM32'ers nearby, all would be welcome!
Jims photographs seem to show off the railway much better than the ones I capture. Now there's a reason to repeat the exercise, as if we needed one!

I would like to add that the initial run of the mamod without the inertia van was accompanied by the traditional mamod drivers mantra "rightshelooksreadyoooobuggerbuggerbuggercomehereyoudamnthatshotouch" and the traditional 20 yard dash followed by a flying leap.

Superb! Your stock suits Peter's railway a treat Jim.

Peter, I'm sure many of us wished we lived closer. I for one would welcome being able to visit you and your railway.
