Suitable pins

Post by pandsrowe » Thu Aug 13, 2015 4:34 pm

What type of pins do others use when securing SM32 Peco chairs to the sleepers when building your own points etc?
I've been looking for a while now and it seems almost impossible to get brass pins small enough, coupled with the problem that those pins which are available are only brass plated, which I have no doubt will last barely one season.

I used the peco plastic sleepers and didn't need any pins, I used plastic magic solvent from deluxe materials. It worked a treat and I have had 7 points down for 2 years without one chair failing. Hope that helps

My local model shop sells two sorts of pins: Peco track pins, which are long and thin, and Hornby Track Tacks, which are thicker and shorter. I suspect either would be suitable.................

If you put "pins" into the search facility at: http://www.geedee-modelshop.com you will get all SORTS of pins!

Thanks for the suggestions, I hadn't even considered using any type of adhesive, its an idea that I'm definitely going to explore.
