hello
i project to build a K1 with 2 chassis roudhouse (billy or Katie) is there somebody yet build one?
have you some plan in scale and what use for boiler
in fact i'm looking for most information before start this project

I think I have seen your post on the G Scale Central site. Have you looked at the Garden Railway Specialists shop site. they are promoting a live steam K1 in 16 mm scale ?

I think they are working in conjunction with Accucraft. Apart from the pleasure and satisfaction of building your own would it not be an idea to see how this one turns out. OK, I doubt it will be cheap but than building using two Roundhouse chassis, running gear and a bespoke boiler isn't going to be that cheap either. Max.

yes i've seen but too expensive and i would to build mine for shure not so perfect than grs/accucraft model but most beautiful for me when i build it

Peter Lucas in South Australia built a stand-off scale K1 using a couple of Roundhouse Katie chassis and a custom boiler. You will find the writeup on the model in Issue 181 of Garden Rail, which is one of the issues available online.

The boiler is the big issue with a Garratt model. To drive a pair of Roundhouse chassis you need a boiler with double the steam raising capacity of a standard Roundhouse boiler. The easiest way to acheive this is to build a boiler with two flues and two Roundhouse burners.
I've not seen Peter Lucas's loco running, but I have seen several of the Ceylon H1 Garratts that Brian Wilson has built and discussed them with him at steamups in Melbourne. They run very well and he uses Roundhouse cylinders in these. The gas fired ones use his own boiler design and are about 2 1/2" diameter with two flues and two Roundhouse burners.
