Or fit a four or five (depending on IC used) small component regulator and fit insulated wheels such as those provided by IP engineering. No need for batteries so plenty of room for a small regulator. However you would need to set the reg to suit the controller to provide sufficient control movement to sensibly and easily regulate speed. Lots of ways to do it for minimum cost but easily done if a bit of simple soldering is not too much of a challenge. The problem with running the loco "as is" is that if you put it on the track of course you have a dead short without the wheel change so even battery controlled it will still need insulated wheels to run on a live track.MDLR:98341 wrote:You're going to have a MAJOR job on your hands, as there's no insulation between the wheels and the axles, meaning that you'd have to re-make them.
