CAG Steam up on the Lynton and Barnacle Bay Railway

Just a few piccies of yesterdays happenings at the LBBR. (after finally arriving due to 7 sets of roadworks in 56 miles :x )

Image
First out was PTLR engineering's super lady anne with the absurdly heavy freight train.

Meanwhile PTLRsam tentatively sent out the coal fired yeo.

However it wasn't long before he adopted his habit of stopping on the main running line for 10 minutes to claw back his fire.
In a slightly vain effort to get him to shift Scafell and the Battleplough Pegasus was sent out.

Image

Which did indeed get him to shift ( half a circuit)
So with all hatch battened down, combat stations ready and crew braced for impact Scafell was opened up to flank speed.

Image

However the signalman was having none of that and quickly dropped the peg to danger, so we rammed that instead.

Image

Scafell with the even longer heavy freight (all these wagons have several sheets of lead in the bottom)

Not to be outdone by a garret the Super Lady anne then took out the heavy freight.

Image

Last out was the LBBR's Dylan, which coped surprisingly well (although we didn't dare send it down and up the 1 in 35 gradient sections (It is manual after all).

A great day out and thanks to Mr and Mrs Pugwash for the invite and multiple teas, coffees, cakes and sneak attacks by Bengal tigers (well cats).

One of the best bits on the Forum is to see others lines. Thank you.

If SMT had arrived on time, everyone would know by now that the black Lady Anne is not really what you say it is...
I'm guessing that Scafell did pretty well then? I hope you got video of the signal demolition....

I hope that the signal was repaired ASAP, and that the driver was suspended from all further duties. It is one thing to pass a signal at danger, but to demolish it entirely.....!

Erm No. It seems that CAG's rulebook is based off NWAG's so that's allowed. Although we did add a clause allowing us to shoot RAIB inspectors on site :-)

In response. Scafell didn't bat an eyelid at the heavy freight on its back nor the plough on its front. As for video no I didn't get it. I was to busy blowing the whistle at sam to move his coal fired thing to a siding :-). P.S whats this about the super lady anne?

Couldn´t agree more. Fantastic photos and I´m sure it was a grand day out, in the words of one fictional character. :D

Somehow managed to miss this thread entirely...!

I bet the owner of that Lady Anne is going to be pleased when it returns to them, is it Urien in disguise? :P

Yes I bet its owner will be well chuffed.   And no its not the Urien.   Urien however will be PTLR Super lady anne no 3 .
