Brandbright orders?

Post by Keith S » Fri Sep 13, 2013 5:53 pm

I ordered a coach kit from Brandbright over a week ago, and while I received an automated E-mail response acknowledging my order, I have yet to receive a receipt and on their website my order is still "pending".

I don't mean to sound impatient, but I'm accustomed to more prompt processing. Another manufacturer of kits who can't be bothered to reply to Emails most of the time still manages to process orders in a timely fashion.

Normally I would be content to wait, but I'm worried that they do not accept my Canadian credit card because their payment page says "credit card (UK)" on it. Roundhouse and IP engineering, as well as chuffed2bits and others have all been perfectly happy to accept my credit card.

Perhaps the Brandbright guys are just on vacation? Does anyone know?

If you weren't so far away I'd say "ring them" but I appreciate that might be difficult. Do you want one of us to chase it up on your behalf?

As said on my railway thread, I had no answer for a week. I telephoned them yesterday, and their response was "Oh yes, I meant to email you, the brake van and box van you ordered was out of stock". Great, they meant usually means they forgot. They agreed to send the rest of the stuff (wheels and other bits) and it arrived today, and the wheels are of use to me because I order extra because I'm scratchbuilding flat wagons. However if you have only purchased the amount for the coaches them sending it seperatley won't be much use. They are going email me when the box van and brake van are back in stock. It could be the same case with your coaches, however if you are going to ring them, between 10 and 12 is the best time to get them. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I would assist you in the way Brian said but having already rung them I don't want them to recognise me...

Hope this helps.  :)
Dan

Out of stock means not yet manufactured due to economic circumstances beyond our control. Suppliers are cutting back in manufacture. Whats the point of producing something thats left on the shelf. Its now norm to wait til order comes in before manufacturing.

Thanks Brian for your offer, if you can ring them at no charge to yourself that would be very kind, otherwise I will have to wake up early in order to do so myself between 3:00 and 5:00 in the morning my time. My last name is "Shergold", that will help them identify the order.

If it's just back-ordered I really don't mind. I've got lots of projects to keep me busy. I'm stocking up for the long, dark winter we get here. It's just around the corner.

Today, Saturday, we are due to drive past Brandbrights premises. I will attempt to get a response and ask them to e-mail Mr Shergold.

I think their e-mail system is a bit awry as I made an order online some weeks ago and got an e-mail informing me the order was being processed. That e-mail arrived 6 hours after the goods had been delivered to my home.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for that, Andy - I'll wait to see what you find out before I do anything.

Thanks to all you fellows for the offer of help. I feel a little embarrassed because I only made the order the week before last: but I was worried about whether they would accept my foreign credit card.

Andy, thank you very much for looking into it, much appreciated.

I just received my kit in the mail, and thank you to Brian and Andy for offering to pop in and see about the order... it turned out they were on holidays.

I'm excited; it looks like a very good kit, I think I shall have a good time building this. All the parts look very well made and it comes with excellent instructions. I should order another one... it might look funny in a train by itself.

You need to order two more, coaches always look best in odd numbers ;)

I bought a wagon kit from Brandbright at Elsecar, looks really crisp and substantial.
Can't wait to start building it.

Agreed Pauly, it looks like a good kit. I like how the sides are in several layers. I'm going to need a lot of different paints. There are so many parts that make up the interior and the sides to make the droplights look real. It's going to be pretty fun to build I think.
