Vale of Ffestiniog Dimensions

Post by Stuvon » Tue Mar 26, 2013 9:39 pm

Hi,

I'm really tempted to build a powerful diesel locomotive and I think this will probably end up being a model of Vale of Ffestiniog.

The problem is I am unable to find any dimensions for the real thing.

Does anybody happen to have any information on the loco, dimensions, a drawing even? Any technical data would be good.

One other question, where does the exhaust exit? There is a good chance this will end up being a live diesel, and so I at least ought to get this in the right place.

Over to you......

Hi,

7mm scale drawings (side and end elevations) for VoF can be found in the 7mm NG Association's Narrow Lines series. You need No. 12 - The Festiniog Railway, Preservation Era Drawings : Locomotives & Rolling Stock.

Currently available from Camden Miniature Steam Services.

It was also for sale at both F&WHR and WHHR shops in Port when I called in yesterday.
Best Wishes

The engine exhaust comes through the roof to one side of the centre line...

The hole on the centre line at the far end is the radiator filler.

Please note that the arrangement of side doors and grilles are not the same on each side, i.e. not a mirror image.
