Sunny Summer Saturday at the SLR South

Usually we have found in the NWAG that August steamups can be poorly attended affairs, what with members on holiday or staying away because of "domestic authorities". Not this one!! The onset of summer weather and the promise of lots of food, plus the fact the SLR south hasn't held a full NWAG steamup for nearly 3 years seemed to tempt out the majority of the membership. This lead to a variety of locos even with the heat clearly affecting some members (oh no hang on SLRmidge isn't normally with it anyway 
)
Normally its the grand finale, but this time things got started with the ANLR/PTLR double header with Morgana leading Russell, which is starting to rack up some milage
Lady Pamela visiting from the Poolend Garden Railway. An attempt to run the Mamod Vertical boilered Brunel didn't appear to go well
The regular visiter from Preston, meths fired Lady Anne "Cantankerous", which wasn't being so Cantankerous today and enjoying the warm weather

Honestly, I hadn't seen a Merlin Mayflower at a steamup before at the begining of July. A month and a half later I've seen two! This is another ebay purchase for the Lynmouth and Barnacle Bay railway, who have already got through several locos thanks to Ebay (including making tidy profits on a couple of them.....!) It ran ok for a while, before becoming a failure due to obscure reasons known only to those the driver would tell!
