The CGR & WLLR

On Saturday me and David (Resurgam) paid a visit to two raillways in North Wales! First on the agenda was the Colwyn Garden Railway, a 45mm line which was mainly built for electric locos, and you can see that in the gradients, which the branchline was estimated a 1:25/20 (i.e. 1:Very Steep!) 
and of course because of the gradients, a King of the Hill challenge was bound to happen between the Darj and Snowdon
Snowdon making it's way up the 1:25ish with 5 or 6 (can't remember now) Aristocraft bogie coaches!
However, trains were stopped temporarily, to see the Duchess of Sutherland fly past!
Doing about 70ish it ran through early!
and then it was back to more playing trains!
Once we'd finished on the CGR, we then quickly headed down the Conwy Valley, to the Wigfa & Llanwrst Light Railway (Sorry Greg, not that WLLR ) where Britomart could actually terrorise the place because it's 32mm!
The NG11 came out for a run
Whilst Snowdon happily went round with the W&L stock
and normally, it's the Mamod that tends to run away and bash into other trains doing a sensible speed. This time a Peter Angus Mountaineer thought it were a Mamod and managed to run away out of reach and hit the back of Britomart's train so hard that the fire was blown out
Luckily no damage was caused to anything!
