Snow clearance on the Horncastle Branch

I was on the regulator, Peachbottom on the shutter and our near-neighbour Mark Loving ably wielded secateurs and Halfords' de-icer.

OBB tail-board pressed into use as temporary stop board- no trains to Minting today.

Platform 1 at Horncastle after ploughing.

Main line after ploughing. That picturesque moss in the 2' turns into a solid icy lump in these conditions and is very good at derailing underweight vehicles (and sadly the plough is underweight for the job it has to do- must ballast it soon)

Ploughing complete, the goods gets through! Coal train crossing the Bain.
