I emailed Lorenz Schug of the above yesterday to express my intent of having a Decauville. He'll be doing an 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 version, in 32mm OR 45mm non-regaugeable. Details here:

This was his response:

"thank you for your pre-order. Please note that I have no delivery date and no price at the moment because it depends on the production quantity and the exchange rate. Factory is working on the CADs and the samples. As soon as I know more I will get back to you. I hope to get enough orders as soon as the samples can be shown. That is why I do not advertise them at the moment."

Go on, order one. You know you want to!

The Decauville 0-6-0 version looks great

Here's some pics I took of two 0-6-0's when I went to the Froissy-Cappy-Dompierre line whilst there in June this year. The cleaner example is a resident, the one in working clothes was a visitor from the Chemin de Fer de Charteraines. Still to sift through the pics I took, but just to give you some inspiration:













Note the differences in the cab layout and controls.





OK, you won't glean much from this but this was a case of right time right place...

Let's hope they don't spray the chassis/boiler in black gloss

Hello all - excuse my ignorance, but how similar is the 0-6-0T to the Gate guards that used to live in Gloddfa Ganol, Blaenau Ffestiniog? Thanks

ahem....the locos formerly at Ffestiniog were kerr Stuart "Joffre" class locos, made in ww1 for the 60cm lines in use on the western front, based on a french design by Decauville. I belive they were made as the french needed extra locos and they're own manufacturers could not keep pace with demand.
Axe is one of these locos, ableit heavily rebuilt.
Sgt Murphy of Penrhyn quarry fame, now at the Teifi valley railway was a Kerr Stuart "Haig" class, built using spares from the Joffre order with a more English outline.
My idea was with a new cab,smoke box door, buffer beams and chimney she would look remarkbly like Axe.

Have any actually been made yet or are they still pre order? Without price I do still take

I received an email today from Lorenz Schug, stating that the engines should be delivered December 2013/January 2014. I'm not sure how many of the fifty built are still up for grabs.

Email from Lorenz Schug saying that capacity problems will delay delivery to the 2nd half of 2014. Still worth the wait, I hope.

Yes, I got an email to the same effect. It is a shame, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait
