I was just having a browse on Ebay and came across this little beauty, a  Locolines Ivor. (brand new unstarted kit) So I bought it!  :D



It comes complete with chassis motor & wheels, just needs batteries to run. Ah well it will keep me amused for a few evenings, when there is naff all on the telly!

Shame Locolines went bust

Locolines did not go bust Roy was getting too many orders, and as he has a full time job and other hobbies as well, he closed up shop as he could not keep up with the orders.(unlike some other suppliers)

he does still make the odd kit now and then which he puts on ebay. i must get round to making some of the locolines kits i have.

Ivor looks great I hope SWMBO agrees to a permanent way soon

Beg your pardon, it was in no way intended to be a slur on Roy. I was enamoured with his Mamod body transfers but was alas too late to order some sets.

It might be worth asking Roy - he has been known to make to order.............

I bought an Ivor kit, I sent a cheque payment with a cheeky request in it.. My wishes where granted by Roy. Hes a top bloke. If you want a particular kit off him. Message him via ebay. The worst he can say is no!

Thanks guys for your interest. It cost me £50 so not bad considering they are hard to find now and probably cost more when they were in production.

Well the management has finally given planning permission for the SWMBO Light Railway, which will be started sometime in March when the weather should be starting to get a little warmer after the winter.
Ivor will no doubt be playing an important role in testing out the trackwork, as it slowly progresses round the garden.
Eventually the line will become known as The Sparrowlee Light Railway, once it becomes more established, for my love of all things Leek & Manifold, but at the beginning will be the SWMBO Light Railway, untill SWMBO has approved of the route taken round the garden.

Buy her an engine. I bought my SO a B class, so she's taking an active interest in the railway construction: when we've finished the new house.

Good point, she can have Ivor, when I take delivery of E.R. Calthrop! In fact, I think she will be quite delighted with it.

What do the Locolines kits consist of? I rather like the look of the KS animal. I had a much modded 009 version years ago.

They come as sheets of printed card, which you varnish before starting to cut them out. You have to stain the edges to match the panel colours (the hardest part) but they do make up quite nicely.

I made a note of the fact that Herself rather likes the look of the Roundhouse 'Bertie' just in case I ever have a yen for another locomotive. Personally I would prefer something a bit larger, but beggars cannot be choosers
