I visited Nick and Grace Wood's line today up in Wadebridge, named the Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway (I think). You might have seen the feature on it, or it's viaduct in Garden Rail. Unfortunately, it's 45mm gauge, and my allen keys are packed away in the middle of moving so my locos are thankfully still on 32! Infact, there was only 2 visiting locos that ran, the rest were all home engines and rolling stock.

The railway itself is fantastic. Extremely well created, blending into the small garden nicely. There's a steam up/storage area in the garage, that does fold up when not needed, that runs out a shuttered hole in the stone wall out onto the railway, which is a dog bone type shape with loops at each end. The line is full operational, with tokens for each sections, and all points and signals fully controlled by Brandbright's Bell-air pneumatic system... things were quite chaotic at times! All the buildings and structures are real stone. It's based on a fictional BR Western Region branch line running from Bodmin to Padstow, through Wadebridge and St. Issey.

The loco is one of Nick's two Roundhouse VoRs.

Wow, looks like one of those fantastic small but very well detailed railways. Great pics as well, the Rheidol tank looks suprisingly nice in what presumerbly is a representation of BR experimental blue.

Lovely pics fella, that line is simply stunning. Love the loco liveries, looks proper good that does.

Now THAT is a model railway! Everything works together to create a whole, so much greater than the sum of the parts. It's not the brilliant bits that matter (though they help), but the fact that even the worst (if there is such a thing) is still very, very good. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link....

Brilliant. The natrual stone just makes it better. Whats with the little sea gull on the viaduct shot? it looks like its mid flight? how is that done?

He's a scientist, and has made real, 16mm sized Seagulls!

Look very closely, and there's some wire from a bent out coathangar or something holding them up there.

Double Wow most excellent line and those VORs look a reet treet too.

With the way the photo is taken the wire is invisable!

Looks like there's a good amount of operating potential, and a complete lack of "twee"

And those are just the BR livery ones... I spied a few others on his shelf including a Sabre Steam Annette and an Accy Lyn

You're not along. I thought his lattice posts were very tasty. Only fly in the ointment- the arm isn't pivoted in the centre but you can't have it all.

I like the fact that I was driving the diesel loco in all the photos!

I've just come across this thread and, by god, it's amazing!

For me it´s both the photos and the railway. Fantastic!!
