The early brown livery of the L&M locos were delivered to Waterhouses in 1904 and ran in that livery until 1912, when they then ran in North Staffordshire Railway Madder Lake, until being taken over by the LMS in 1923. They then changed to Crimson Lake and two years before closure in 1934, they ran with an all over Black livery with no lining, until they were scrapped. JB Earle was cut up first at Waterhouses and ER Calthrop was used for the track dismantling and was finally cut up in 1935.

I have ordered my loco from Roundhouse in Brown. There was no actual name for this coulour and it was usually refered to as Calthrop Brown, after the locos designer and builder of the L&MVLRyl

No, I will just have to accept that this was not fitted when the locos were delivered in Brown.

I will be scratchbuilding the coaches and these will be in the early Primrose livery. Just got to scource some suitable bogies.

I dont think it would be too much trouble to remove. I would also consider fitting dummy ramsbottom safety valves and replace the dummy whistles with steam hooters.

I will leave it as it comes for a while, before I decide whether to improve on it.
