For Christmas I ordered a IP Rapier, van and brake van, once they arrived in January(!:roll:) I've been waiting for the chance to build them and last week I got the chance. The build was uneventful, I knew what to expect thanks to mhlr's videos! The loco (or to be more precise the van) is fitted with remote control, the speed controller & reciever are from a boat, the battery box is from the scrap box and the radio is one that has been lying around the house. I plan to add more details to the ensample every now and again but for now it'll do.

I am very satisfied with her, she looks better than I thought it would. If you like the wiring in the van you must be in awe of the electronics on the loco! :lol:

No line I'm afraid, I'm going to become a member of the York model engineering society. Once that happens I'll take River Ankh out and show the results here, I promise!

I've just ordered a AnDel industrial open wagon, as it's been sent Royal Mail 1st class it should be on my workbence in May! :roll: :lol:

They look good in that livery. maybe if you set up a small test track in the garden and grew it!

What is the exhaust??? Looks like a fab little engine! if only i thoughtabout mine before i built it!!!

The exhaust came from my scrapbox, I think that it is a bit too small but it doesn't look too bad.

I might (and almost certainly will) regret saying this but River Ankh should be capable of running properly on Sunday! The new battery pack has been charged and the radio system how appears to be working, although she is a bit jerky when not under cruise control. Naturally that should happen only after I've ordered a Planet 5 system!

She's been prepared for success with 'shed masters pet' white tyre walls and some touching up of other paint work. River Ankh working properly should mean that Offler can take it easy for once!
If both locos are running well on Sunday I'll try to double head them again, last time it ended up with one of the couplings of River Ankh's van lying 2 feet away from the van!

Knowing River Ankh's luck however, on Sunday either the motor will burn out or I'll overload her and strip the gears!

But just in case I'll be preparing Offler for another tough day!
