Bad luck Sam.

We are currently being hit by some very strong winds again here in Central Scotland, and I've had to rescue the car cover off my Trabant which blew off and is now secured down with several tie-downs (this is a stalled project at present as my real car is in the garage during the winter weather). 2 panels of the fence adjoining my house with the next one down the hill have also blown out, but the temperature has been too cold at night to get new posts concreted in yet (I also think my neighbours think it is my responsibility, but in fact the previous owners of that house snuck the fence up whilst I was away on one of my tours a few years ago).

I would certainly take up that track to prevent any further damage to the tabs at the end of the panels.

A masonry drill bit, some rawplugs and brass screws should see that track sorted out, although I can see you have a fair bit of work getting the trackbed even.

Oh dear on both counts, garden railways don't work to well as canals, and the wind has made a bit of a train wreck of the railway (pun not intended there, honest) Hope you both get it fixed quickly

Well I'm sure that I could make some quip about canals and trains but I won't but otherwise I hope that both railways get up and running asap.

Dare I say that this is one of the advantages of a raised level track? :P

Seriously though, I'm very sorry you've had your lines damaged, like riveresk I hope you can get them running again soon.

Sorry to here about your lines. Staying with the disaster topic, did anyone's line get damaged by the earthquake this moring? Mine didn't.
