Very nice, certainly look good with those new IP talyllyn coaches. One slight dislike though is that the valve gear is way over scale and much too chunky!

My favourite TR loco, so MUST get one! Problem is, I'd then have to get a matching rake of stock etc.

A lot cheaper than I first envisaged, too.

It would look right at home on my 2ft 9 and 3/4 way!
Inside framed, rather unusual. Love it!

My dad has just seen the loco and it seems the model is based on one of his MK1 tom rolts as slight discrepancies in the details he got wrong are wrong on the RH model :?

Ooops! Sorry, I thought you meant the model had a black boiler, and the real one was green!

Roundhouse also use body colour for Linda and the Darjeeling, both of which should have black boilers.

And I've just had an email about lining a Roundhouse Tom Rolt...!

Compared with Taliesin its awful! Though its another job for lightlines which will improve it no end. Why dont Roundhouse be like accucraft that build an accurate presentation and not something that vaguely looks like it.

Exactly, accucraft seem to be alot better at this. For example roundhouse don't tend to pay much attention to the valve gear which means it looks much too chunky, accucraft do and it improves the model alot! Also a few more small detail castings wouldn't go amiss on the roundhouse models and I also think they could finish the model with a matt smokebox. This probably has something to do with where each of the models is made in that if more and more was improved in the roundhouse models the price would just be too high whereas accucraft are able to keep to very low prices and still make good quality models that run superbly.

I think that the model is pretty accurate. after all the loco has modern welded bodywork. also the valve gear isnt to big. its pretty accurate I would say. As for accucraft you may not be saying they are cheap by the end of the year. the chinease workers are up in arms at the moment over pay. Its roumoured that a manual countess by december will be around £2000

Again I would choose Accucraft for that as well. Roundhouse are just keeping to their basic principles There is always a demand so why change I guess. Same pistons same chassis just the body work is the difference to any other.
