Locoline Wickham

Well, I've just finished my Locolines Wickham and it's not bad. I will put pics on my website soon.
The body went to together well but the chassis is a bit of a bodge.
Also just wondering what other people think of locolines kits?

Having tackled a couple of them, I'd say that for the price they're great
You
have to take your time with them, and the instructions for curving the card where necessary by "drawing it over a table edge" should really be replaced with "carefully rolling it with a rolling pin on a soft surface".
I was quite happy with my first loco (Comeng diesel), but the lessons learned meant that I'm really chuffed with my Hunslet

Ye, I don't mind building the chassis though was horrible. I'll put a pic of it up soon so you can see how much of a bodge it is

Yes, locolines chassis' are horrendous
, you'd be best off replacing it with an IP Engineering budget chassis or something
.

I've heard mixed reviews of the locolines kits. I do like the kerr stuart kit but the main thing that would put me off would be the lack of detail and what is there is just printed on.

I used the motor out of a wickham and mecanno and old bits of a van for my chassis!

Very true, that's why they're "cheap"
BUT you can use the printing to overlay 3D detailing

I wouldn't mind trying the Kerr Stuart. Might do just not yet. But I agree the bodies are good but the chassis are horrible. Like Narrow Mined 'sed you are better to use and IP one or you could try to build one out of wood or someat'.

It's OK from me too, cos I agree that the chassis are the worst part! At the very LEAST replace the supplied "discs" with proper wheels, or replace the whole chassis
