I really don't know what to say, although the cat would probably be well advised to keep its distance from you at the moment

Thanks, I suppose I neglected to take pictures of the brake build so a new chassis rebuild may be a blessing in disguis. Well with no guards van my Guards/third carriage is having to be used on all goods trains meaning that I am down to an open penrhyn carriage and that bug box (review to follow shortly) as my passenger stock!

The brave little gurads van soldures on!
Having dropped a scale 100 feet and with plenty of super glue I have started to rebuild the guards van

I still have a repaint and the brakes to sort out.

For some things (and I KNOW you wouldn't have considered it at the time) having a repaired vehicle with signs of the repair would be quite nice - it'd certainly be authentic!
One of my sheep wagons got dropped about a month ago - it's going back together but it'll never look quite the same but i don't really mind.
Just don't mention the 3 coaches that lost their bogies coz they were stuck on with superglue...................

eh, 3 coaches which lost their bogies because they were stuck on with super glue??
I plan to make the guards van look extremely tired and hard worked!

OK - to be pedantic the bogie pivots were stuck to the floor of the coach with superglue and dropping the box they were in on the road broke the bond of the glue. One bogie got wrecked and one buffer beam was stoved in, and quite a number of footboard brackets got broken, but IP Engineering supplied replacements so all should be sorted by next Monday, when i go back to work!

gosh!
When building bogies I use epoxy and they allways fall apart! I should probably try soldering them togthor but to be honest am a bit scared of soldering white metal!

I can vouch for soldering, I'd never tried it before but assembled the control panel for my IP Jessie with soft solder.
I reckon the trick is to TAKE YOUR TIME, it's still quicker than waiting for glue to dry!
A bonus that I found was that I could bend the assembly to "tweak"it to fit the cab - I reckon glued joints would have let go if I'd tried that!
Nice work on the restoration. Have you made the roof removeable? (wish I had on mine.)

Will do, All my rooves are removable, don't know why I just do not like the idea of not being able to fiddle around with the insides, besides the working brake column is in there so I need to be able to access it!
