bloomin' heck, what an amazingly tall railway! I do wonder how hard it must have been to build, as well as the consequences of a derailment
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Flippin' eck!!! WOW!!!

Now there's a solution if you don't have a garden... build one up the side of your house!!!

Even a live steam rack loco would be fantastic fun! You could then build a mini Snowdon or something in your garden, up a very very big rockery!

Hmmm I wonder what happens if it gets stuck half way...
I would have thought that safety dictates that the loco should allways go bellow the carriage...

it never would, proper LGB rack loco that!

Iv spoken to the owner in the past and its supposed to be the highest or longest garden rack line in Britain.

theres 1 in france (I think its france) where it climbs up the side of a very steep tall hill of a garden.

I just love the idea of having a rack railway, maybe get a Roundhouse kit and fit it with an appropriate gear on one of the axles :D

but you would need to slant the boiler as well.

Not if you run the loco smokebox first.

When I was in Switzerland we had a rack loco with a conventional boiler position.

I was thinking of doeing so with the regner Vincent but then there are no mountians in suffolk...
The loco would have to stay smokebox first and full of water. There was a regner lumberjack loco conversion somewhere, I'll see if I can find it... here you go!

You'd be doing your fair share of top up bottle action, or you could just move the regulator to the smokebox end.
