hello Memebers..
Just wondered if anyone had seen the above for sale on e-bay?
SM32 32mm Gauge Slaters Festiniog Prince Loco
Would like to ask if anyone knows of this particualr model? builder? and weather it would be a good purchase?(no recriminations)
As some of you will know i was after the Slater`s Quarry hunslet..but this could save quite a bit i think..
Also need to ask if it would be possible to upgrade/Maybe respray & lining? also could Sound be now added..
any help advice very much appreciated..have made to many costly mistakes in the past
all the best Steve

I have heared of people having trouble with the slaters Quarry Hunlets, but I've not heared anything about the Prince kit, good or bad. It seems to be quite well detailed.
You could repaint it and line it if you want, just making sure you use the correct paint (both acrylic and enamels work on resin I think, enamels give a better finish I believe), and I can't see why I sound unit couldn't be fitted, although you might find that you have to put it in the tender if there isn't any room in the loco. My guess is there wouldn't be room for a sound unit in the quarry hunslet btw, the are very tight for space inside

Hi Again laalratty
Appreciate your reply very much the auction as two days to run so i will see how it goes and see if anyone else as any views on this particular Loco?
As you may know it was the Slater`s Quarry Hunslet i was interested in but if i can save something buy purchasing this then that would be a great help..
The fact there does not appear to be any insurmountable problems with the possible respraying and addition of sound is very good news..
all the very best and many thanks
Steve

I've seen one running at one of the local group member's lines (battery powered however), seemed to run really nicely, so if that one on eBay has been built well, it should be fine.

Hello Pete..
Good to hear from you..many thanks for the picture wonderful...and thankyou for your comments on the battery version..I do like this loco almost as much as Slater`s quarry hunslet..but as usual i have to make sure if everything fits together in the right order if you understand my meaning..as all work/upgrades have to be done in order in UK before despatech..so asking re/will sound be ok retrofitted is an important question..as well as one or two others..
all i need to find is someone to check it over mechanically..respray & line..add sound..e.t.c.
so any suggestions offers very welcome
Regards Steve

I think your best bet for re-spraying and lining is this guy, and if you want inspiration just check out the gallery... (click on search by manufacturer, there arn't any pics of the Slater's Prince or Hunslet however there are several other locos, all of which could provide inspiration for what you want for your loco)

Not sure of anyone who could do any necessery mech work for you though
