S' nowt wrong with a small railway. Some of the best garden railways I've seen are tiny- Tag Gorton's "Longlands and Western" for one.

Tiny lines are lovely! I know! You get alot of time fiddling and playing with the locos!

It seems to be a general rule that the smaller the railway, the more effort that goes into planning the whole scene, not just the trackwork- they always seem to be much more detailed and much better thought out.

Well I'm not sure about better thought out through experience!!!

There's an exception to every rule

Yeah after all my track work is down im going to detail but cant to too much of extent due to dogs like to sit on the railway !
And for the track work its rather shoddy due to i was following contours of the garden so typical NG trackwork that isn't maintained is what i use to cover it up lol

Here they are

View of the problem hanging out of Punch's cab (a I P engineering Punch loco )
Not the best of pictures but a view of the Cyclist crossing so far .. it will curve round to the right when i get more cement ... reason for mud everywhere is had to chase dog off of it

just need to rain and it will be clean:)
Now for pictures of the line

The end of the line (can only fit short wheelbased locos ( only 0-4-0's )

Down the loop (now you can see what i meant by bad trackwork)

where station will go ... will be scratch built and base on Rhydyronen on the Talyllyn Railway

where the crossing is

needs to have slate fencing and mini conifers now and some moss

The pw hut scratch build from marine ply with a layer of outdoor polyfiller painted and scribed

:D:D XD needs reballasting

last bit of line at halfway round at the mo built up to ease the corner of but created a horrid gradient comeing up to it ( the mesh is to stop cats digging until i have sceniced it )

Increadibly reminisant of NG. Love the look down the twisty trackwork! Bloody straight shelves! Will be a lovely rustic line when done I'm sure.

Like that a lot already- nicely rural, and not overcrowded which is what people sometimes do in a small space- nice. Get some cameos in there with careful detailing and you'll be able to get some ace photos.

Aye very atmospheric

But - dare I ask - are derailments a problem?
