New MSS Loco.

I will upgrade my Steam Regulator and read I have to drill out the roof due to rivets where else do I have to remove rivets and can someone advise me what size nuts and bolts and washer sizes, Should the hardware be brass or can I just paint the nuts and bolts.Thank you for any information on this upgrade.
