LANDROVER train

As seen at Trenhale Maze Maze here in darkest Cornwall...a Land Rover based Loco with ONE wheel trailers (ala AWNUTS Samuel Muncey)...rough ride but fun.........

HAHAHA wow, now thats more like my kinda train!
Looks like its based on an old Series 3 109" chassis... But it aint the kind of thing I'm planning for one of my future projects Land Rover "train".

Apparently that one doesn't work very well, although I can't remember why not. I can tell you it's a series 2 (or 2a) though

I like that one very much, I bet if they used the front hubs too and coupled it all up so it had 8wd, it would pull a house down in low range

this one was a good conversion, saw it at the statfold barn railway on saturday

If anyone would like more info on similar unuits, the old chap who sells the plants at the brickworks open days used to convert Jeeps to standard gauge rail during the war.. if anyone would like can ask him for photos etc...?

I understand that the Rover would pull the waggons off with no trouble at all.........................However when it came to stop that was a different thing altogether...............
