Shunting O-gauge tinplate

Finally had some time to take the promised video:
Märklin O-gauge had automatic couplings (not for long).
They operate when a wagon passes a special track piece (or in my case a bit of bent wire soldered to a sleeper...)
Shunting loco today is a Zeuke T55 (Former GDR, bakelite body, converted to 66 system to run on Märklin rails).

Hi Aaron,

this is just the Märklin automatic coupling.
There is still the Bing Electro-automatic coupling waiting for a video.
The wagons have an additional pickup mounted higher than the 3rd rail.
There are special pieces of track with a contact for it and, if energised, a huge solenoid opens the coupling.
Planning to make a video showing that soon.

My layout is equipped for both systems.
