You can and I have many times, but for replacements sake, it is better to make a bracket and screw it in.

Either super glue or epoxy does the trick, but if you use too much of either, it's never coming out in one piece. Where is it being fitted and to what surfaces?

in the bottom metal box in a ragleth for the throttle. It has one where there but whatever glue has failed as has the servo. I'm waiting for a new micro servo to replace it.

I found for that purpose use a "wing" servo and drill 2 holes and screw it in. Far easier to fit and replace. There are many different types and prices

If you must glue it, then use epoxy after thoroughly cleaning the chassis and servo with something like isopropanol.

From the description of "wing servo" I can only surmise that it is designed to fit into wings hence being so thin.

Yup, designed for plane wings to sit flush underneath the wing in a small cutout. I used these in many foam planes and they were glued in as screws don't take to foam that well
