Recommended tools?

Having (finally) got my first steam loco running, I think its about time I looked at tools. Specifically for the tiny nuts and bolts, where gentle nipping-up with a small adjustable spanner is workable, but not ideal.

Any recommendations on spanners (box, open-ended etc), suppliers, and in particular - sizes?

Loco is a Mamod Brunel mk 3.

Many thanks - Richard

I've managed with a set of nut spinners https://www.newmodellersshop.co.uk/expo ... er_set.htm and small open ended spanners https://www.newmodellersshop.co.uk/expo ... anners.htm (second set down on this page) for most things. Check whether you need BA or metric sets though.

I agree with Phil. I have the same nut spinners. Invaluable in being able to turn a nut/bolt from the front if space at the side is limited. Obviously not as much leverage available as a spanner but more than enough for our model locos I feel.

Thanks for the recommendations - the nut spinners look useful, just need the correct size. Have emailed mamod to ask what sizes all the nuts/grub screws etc. are.
