WOOO!

Post by MTA » Fri May 15, 2009 10:05 am

I've just got an email from Southern saying that I have been invited to their assesment/interview day at Selhurst Depot on Wednesday :D

Free travel on the day in Standard Class to Selhurst, and I will have to sit an exam of some sort and maybe have an interview on the day.

I have always wanted to work for the rolling stock maintenance industry and it looks as if I have achieved my goal :D More news later!

I'm still shaking with excitement.

:hello1: :wav:

Great News Si, all the things you could buy with the money if you stay at home ;) .

I've recently applied for an apprenticeship at First Hydro who have a couple of Pumped Storage Scheme power stations around here, done the assesments (and as a result feel less confident) but still waiting to hear if I've got an interview.

Well done there MTA.

I'm going for a 2 day interview in july to see if I can become and officer in the royal navy. I'm feeling pretty confident, but there are some ares i need to look at.

Good luck with it Matt, I thought about joining the REME at one point but I doubt I would pass the rigorous health checks.

"It's a model icebreaker sir."

Good luck Si, hope it goes as smoothly for you as my first job interview did... :)

(It went something along the lines of "wow, these are the best GCSE grades I've ever seen! When can you start?" The iromy was I turned out to be useless as a supermarket cashier, which really just goes to show that our exam-driven education system is useless for creating well-rounded individuals who can cope with real-world situations. But I digress...)
