Well, it's been a few weeks since my last update and progress has been slow (but steady) for various reasons. Still a fair bit to do (ridge tiles, barge boards, guttering, painting the canopy, and making doors and bespoke windows), but I think I'm at last on the home-straight.

Because it will be sited diagonally against a hedge, the building is tapered at the back - this viewpoint will seldom be seen.

Getting there - albeit slowly

Absolutely beautiful work Rik, it is a stunning looking structure and well worth the wait.
The final detailing will make it 'real' but the windows will be a chore unless you can get them 3D printed.
I have used printed window frames and they look just fine, they are also an economical solution.

Thanks Peter. I was wondering about 3D printed window frames. Did you get a mate to do them, or have you found an online source?

Hi Rik, I did get a mate to print the windows but as there are so many printers about at the moment I'm sure there will be someone out there who can help.

I've found a guy on eBay who sells 3D printed windows. Although these are intended for 00 scale, mine are not too much larger. He indicates he will supply other sizes on request. I've sent him an email with the dimensions for my windows (30mm x 50mm) and am awaiting a response.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks Tom
I used their windows on my engine shed, but I've made the windows on the brewery smaller, so need some bespoke ones, unfortunately.

If the worst comes to the worst, I will use the mesh from the plastic tennis bats as I did for the water mill .....

If you can't get a satisfactory response please send me the dimensions and quantity and I will ask my friend, He has done items for me with no problem.

Wow, that is some building. The contrast of the bricks and motor colour is just right.
Does it have a back or just the hedge behind?

Just heard back and he has some in stock which are more or less the right size for £1 each, plus £1 post overall. He will make bespoke ones for a £4 setting up charge, for future reference. His email address is in the ebay post or you can contact him via his ebay shop if anyone else is interested -

Hi Rik. I really don't know how I have missed this thread. What a brilliant idea to make a model out of cardboard first...
The brickwork is excellent Rik, (much better than mine on my garage)....and you have the patience of a Saint doing all that scribing. Love the colours also mate...

Hi Greg
At the moment there is no back. I might remedy that once I site it properly, I'll see how much tweaking I need to do to the hedge, first.

I was thinking of Beeston Bitter and Beeston Brown Ale, but BBBB does sound interesting.

Looks like I've been beaten to it, though somehow I don't think they would have had
Old Stoatwobbler and
The Squirrel's Nuts in 1930s Cheshire.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity for some product promotion.... there might be a case of Old Stoatwobbler (wonderful name) in it for you?

Must be my age, but the first time I read your comment, I interpreted it as suggesting I might get some sort of infectious disease. ....

Sounds like a perfect opportunity for some creative synergistic marketing! "Sell" their products on your line in exchange for a cratefull?
