Pity it such a difficult project, a great start but so much more needed.
I love the project but in all honesty it’s beyond my ability. My wife says I have a whole pond of lame ducks.

Hmmm.... I reckon the kit as it is is worth a sizeable 3-figure sum. The DJB Taliesin is a nice model, and there are not many around, so it would be a shame to see the kit destroyed, in effect, to produce something different.
There are people out there who could build it as it was meant to be without the drawings, myself included (but sorry, not interested). I reckon ebay might be your friend on this one, and may well produce a return large enough to spend on less challenging projects.
