Hi guys,
Looking at doing a research project on the Darjeeling B class. I have fortunately been able to come across some drawings for the locomotives but I'm short of details on the locomotives during the independent years.
One of the small things that interests me is the names that many of the locomotives now carry. Was this a feature of the locomotives from the independent years?
Thanks

Re: Research topic into the Darjeeling B class
Greetings,
Only three members of the B class were named during independent days. Those were 42B, 43B, and 44B as Tindharia, Kurseong, and Darjeeling respectively. The names were painted in an arc over the works plates on the cab/bunker sides. Their ISR numbers are 795-797.
Best regards,
Paul

Thanks Paul,
I was initially confused due to 3 of the class having proper brass plates instead of the usual painted name.
Interesting how the 3 homebuilds were named; workshop pride perhaps?
