Left hand tank, Dan! (No wonder it took me a minute or so to notice it). Nothing another coal bunker can't sort or a toolbox with the base drilled out.

It does look better in those pics, but when oh when will Accucraft get it into their minds that the platic knobs on everything make it look as cheap and nasty as these generic models can be when they slip through quality control.

Mr. Pearse, if you are reading this please take note!

Here's some info I found from another forum:
Regleth is a lot of loco for the money, and it should be a lot easier to keep good supplies of 1 loco in stock rather than more intermittent supplies of 2 types. With the open backed cab some of the "ease of access" to controls has been retained. The idea of replacing Caradoc/Edrig is not because either have suffered a loss in sales, but so that there will be a continuous supply of locos. Accucraft are batch built, but this model should be available continuously. At anything under 500 squid this has to be an absolute steal with nothing else on the market to touch it for 'bang per buck'.

no I still dislike it as it is, its uncreative and is a real dissapointment.

I just think if its cheap enough Ill get it so I can tinker with it and mod and weather without the fear of ruining something good.

Well, I like it. I think it's a really nicely proportioned engine.

And there isn't much variation you can have really, considering they are stuck with a common chassis, gas tank position etc.

I think they should do a wing- tank next though, like Dougal.

That would be wonderfully quirky.

They should do a special run of them just for this forum!!

Can't think it would be complicated to build on an Edrig chassis. The cab would be the hardest bit, although it's based on Caradoc's. Still plenty of room for the gas tank and servo for the reverser in the rear tanks, so I cant see any reason why it wouldn't work.

Dare I say it, it's rather more interesting than Ragleth. And I like the looks of Ragleth! I agree that it's too similar to Caradoc, but maybe that was the point of it.

I'm wondering if, instead of Accucraft, someone could be persuaded to make a simple kit for the Edrig running chassis. Obviously you'd need solder/ glue and paint but I reckon that way it'd be cheaper than Ragleth anyway.

yup I like it alot, so an order of 4 so far!!

Prehaps something like this could be predused like one of those 7/8ths body kits for the edrig to go on the boiler and chassis??

I was bored again. Another variation, the cab isn't right (the uprights don't look upright but they are, so it's to do with the curves) but you get the idea. Looks quite similar to the Simply 7/8ths "Baldrig XT" which I shall be acquiring should the actually make the thing. If they don't, I'll have a go meself :)

Much as I like Ragleth, I do agree that they should have tried to be more inventive... that said, I suppose a more traditional design appeals to the masses.

Nice drawing Matt! Would be a good looking engine! I especially like the squared beams.
