Yes please laurance what material did you use for steps.

I used 1mm Galvanised Steel... Because it was the only thing I had...

Strip of material 120mm long by 15mm wide.
Mark out from each end 5mm inwards, 20mm inwards and then put in a vice and bend...

Bend on the 20mm lines first then do the 5mm lines.

You should end up with this...

Then just drill a hole in the middle and 40mm in from one end of the raised bit for the knurled nut on the meths burner to secure in place

Steps have been painted Matt Black to match the rest but will no doubt go shiny over time from all the meths and oil etc...

Two coats have been applied with 24 hours between each coat.
So now... Ofario is all very SHINY!!!

Looks very nice Laurence, where do you store the batteries that power the lamp?

In the lamp... its a one piece thing... you can buy them from Chuffed 2 Bits... They even make a LNER one. Mine is the GWR version

Time to unearth this thread and continue the Story...

Since I last posted in here Ofario has gained a set of firing irons... And it will once again become a Tender engine... More on that when the time comes...

It should allow me to top up the meths once every hour and a bit...

If you are hoping for hour long runs would the lubricator become a limiting factor in that it will use all the oil in 20-30mins?

Not really cause my displacement lubricator has a drain and takes a minute or two to empty and refill..
