Seriously though, that patio's looking good without the shed - should open up new photographic opprtunities, and maybe allow some new senic features as well.

Thats fantastic , justone thing some of the buildings across the field are from my old school (as of a month ago), could you burn them as well!!!
Those pesky dragons though, i'll have to warn them not to burn things if they want to live in the Nant Llywyd valley

Well now the excitement of demolition has passed, work has progressed on building the trackbed where the shed used to stand.


The picture is looking out of the lounge window, and the new trackbed can be seen, with the section put down today setting off (middle of the picture). The method for making the trackbed has changed back from thermolite block to cast shuttered concrete over the site of the shed. SLRmidge also popped round to inspect work, he seemed satisfied that the larger radius would be a big improvement and that the quality of work was good

Work has continued and the new trackbed is completed, and now most of the track of the top baloon has been/will be ripped up for total relignment and the instalation of the pointwork for the new upper station, to be named Nant Llywyd

Well things were alright last time he visited........ Is there something I should be worried about.....?
Today I managed to lay about 9 yards of track on the deviation and also installing the upper set of points for Nant Llywyd station, track just about reaches into the tunnel as well off the deviation.




Hopefullly the continuas circuit should be back in use by the weekend, dependent on whether I can get a right hand point

After a pause caused by me deciding to watch the open golf on TV, which also allowed me to fit a working light to my Baguley, work has restarted on the reconstruction. Some tidying up of un-needed materials has happened (!) and tracklaying has continued, with just the western point to put in for the run round loop
Clearances in the tunnel are much better in the tunnel than before as well as the increased radius


There is still a lot of work to go into the new upper station, the trackplan involves fitting quite a bit into a small space and the quarry as well


The concrete for the loop and 2 of the sidings is the next big job, followed by laying the track for the loop and sidings, then work will shift to the quarry. Once the quarry track is finished, the landscaping starts and the tunnel can become a tunnel again
