The red rods really do set it off Will!

That reminds me, I said I'd paint Victor's rods red (I dare you to say that fast  )

As some of you may already know 'Isabelle' has been experiencing problems with the valve timming. So yesterday my friend had a look at it, we found that the piston valves had wound their way down the spindles holding them to the linkages so far that a few more turns would of resulted in a total failure (partially my fault for not checking the tightness. The valves reset, so that very smooth running was experienced in each direction at only aprox. 5psi (compressed air). lock knuts tightened and the loco was back out on the track now running (more or less) faultlesly. Thank you Tony!

It probably isn't obvious that it's running better in the video (perhaps try comparing it with the other video of it running on the same train?), but it's still some nice views!

This is one to be wary of for all accucraft engines- Caradoc did suffer total failure and screwing the spindle back in is a pig of a job. Your Edrig sounds much healthier now though (having heared in real life what it was like before helps)

Looks like its running "sweet as a nut" now. If it aint broke, fix it till it is  :?

Note to self: Check Ben-Ben's spindles are tight!

Sounds like a good idea to me. I know that the North eastern painted the inside of their engines frames red.

I like the idea of red inside frames. I was doing that on my Lady Anne Chassis before it went on hold, then swapped. When my 'new' old Lady Anne gets a full repaint at the end of the year, I think I will be painting them vermillion red.

If it has inside motion then most likely the inside of the frames will be painted red. I asked a friend if he'd seen it, and he's done it to some of his locos, and if he thinks it's nice, then I'm sure it is.

I think if you want it go for it! Personally I wouldn't (but it did look nice on Sian and Katie at Fairbourne in the 60's and 70's from the pics i've seen). look on the locolines website, I think he does some red frame transfers for Edrigs so you can see what it might look like

Great to read that you have finally sorted out your valve problems William.

But is this a common problem with the Edrig, and thus a quality control issue?
