the loop is REMOVABLE and only comes out when specials are running....not left out

if they reject...stick the points in anyway in anticipation of eventually wearing them down

Unfortunatly, there are a couple of problems. First, the trampaline will be out all the time (it's a big one), so I couldn't put a loop there.
Second, I have a very tight buget, so I unfornuatly can't afford to spend money of extra points which will most likely never be used.

Temporary ballon loops that can be removed??? from both ends...if saving on track and not dueling then 2 Y points....

I'm thinking of putting in a ballon loop at one end, and a station at the other, with one point for the loop. To turn round, there'll be a turtable which will also lead to other sidings

You could have 2 stations for end to end running then 2 balloon loops at each end, similar to what laalratty has.

I'm not sure how far you've got with your railway but have you considerd making shelfs like mine and attaching them to the fense or wall? This way, by sticking to the outer edge of the garden, you get maximum distance and it keeps the railway out of the way, Have a look at my website if unshore what I'm talking about!

Nice website, and also a nice method of building a railway. Unfortunatly, my parents want the railway to be as unabtusive (I think thats how you spell it) as possible so the line will have to be built at ground level.

My meathod was the most unobtrusive for our garden (apparently), I'd would have set it into the flower bed but the domestic authority disapproved! Now the railway is ageing nicely I am beguining to prefer this meathod- it was cheap and requires little maintainence another bonus is it is really easy to make the railway perfectly level!
I also apoligies for my rather dire spelling (it is a family trait!)

... and it's ideal operating height - not likely to gain back damage at our young age

It does have the slight disadvantage that at cirtain points one has to reach accross the flower beds and if it has been raining this means you get a rather wet tummy!!

Hello, There is always a "Why Section" for tuning your Locomotives,
this is used a lot in Australia, both Prototypically and us Mudellers,
and could possibly take up less room then a return loop at either end!.
An end too end Track can be and IMHO is better then any or
most other Layout types, It makes you work your Train in a manner
that can only be described as Prototypical, otherwise, a hand
operated Turntable runs too mind!. Used a lot here in OZ both
Prototypically and on Layouts!.

I am useing a turntable where the points would be in the runround loop to save the space of a loco reliese in Snape St. in my shed where space is tight. It is a jolly good idea and the MHLR website is most helpful!
