Where do you get these 'steady hand' thingies....... I need a matched pair.

I can see some changes to detail parts on the models, but I can't see anything suggesting a repaint. The models are still up to your usual high standard of paint finish.

I discovered something today which I thought I would share with you all....
One of the 3D standing loco driver figures I have has both arms stretched forward, but not at the correct height, so.... as an experiment I tried to lower one arm by about 4mm in order to grasp a control lever. In order to achieve this I used a 75w soldering iron held immediately below the elbow, but not touching, whilst gently applying pressure to lower the arm. After about a minute or so I felt the arm soften enough to move to the desired position and held it until it cooled.
This worked so well it didn't even damage the acrylic paint on the figure. I hope this might be useful information.

Those are too nice to leave sitting around..they are crying out for wheels and motor!

I agree with Phillip. Looking on the YouTube page it is a fairly simple build, had to smile a little bit when it fell apart, happens to the best too...

Can you get any of the parts needed for the firebox from anywhere.

Thanks guys, I am grateful to you both (also help from Rod) and I have enough information to build a representative boiler/chassis unit from now.

The idea of scratch-building a chassis to accompany the Jerry Irwin boiler kit has now been abandoned. The reason behind this decision is because Jerry now offers a kit for the chassis as a separate item. Mine arrived yesterday and the two units are now united.....

Yes, you have saved one heck of a job with all those rivets and it looks great just by the building now. Will be even better when you have done your'e magic on it.

Phil, now I have got the kits, and assembled them as designed, I will continue with the idea of leaving it in incomplete condition as a static loco standing alongside my loco shed, just as in the photographs show above. It will have a rusted appearance as though left outside while other components are prepared in the workshop.
But..... I have already given thought to having a second kit in order to make a completed and operational loco (as if I needed another one!). It would be a great start to any loco build as there is so much detail already done.
That is for another day..... possibly a winter project?
