Been a little bit since I last posted. A couple of pleasant suprises has happened!
#1 The Track will be relocated to a larger area in the property the new plan which is in a 12.5 meter by 5.5 meter space and will be fully elevated and have 4.6 meter diameter curves , which means , a slightly longer run, No more bending down to clean cuttings and a nice solid track bed .
#2 this week celebrated my 2 year work anniversary of working in my current job, so i decided to treat myself to something special.
which is ….

A Green Accucraft 13ton A class 2 cylinder 2 Truck Mapleton Shay .
Haven’t steamed it yet but will do in the coming weeks.

Will keep up to date with the track rebuild .
I’ll post a pic of the shay soon once it is in steam .

Cheers,

Good to hear from you Grant , am hoping we get to catch up at GSSU this year, I’ll be there all three days so hoping we can exchange notes and run some trains together! Would be keen to run shays together!

Here is a pic of the plan of the new line , it will be elevated on treated pine posts and treated pine sleepers , the yard will be on plastic pallets 3ft above the ground and hopefully will fit a trestle bridge in, keeping a simple plan this time as I want to be able to run trains on it and make it easy for me to maintain it !

hey all, sorry for the lack of updates lately, i will be relocating house and the tramway has been lifted, the last train ran in late October and was hauled by the shay. i am however gifted with a 10 Meter by 6 Meter space at the new place so i will be rebuilding the line,

In terms of Loco Additions, Not a huge amount has changed since the arrival of Rhiedol Last Year, I will be recieving my Accucraft NA in the short term future, then i will be ordering a roundhouse harrogate in Mid Brunswick Green with Fosworks RC to become the lines main loco to copliment the Hunslet and Rhiedol. And i am Hopeful to order a Black NA to Compliment my Red NA in due course

Mabel and Plantation are doing sterling service and both are going well, mabel had a couple of minor teething issues but it is running sweet now.

Hey All, Im so sorry there has been no updates for a while.

A few Developments Have Occured on the Locomotive and Rolling Stock Roster.

#1 My Red NA 2-6-2T has Arrived, It has become the lovely 12A As it is my favourite Class of Locomotive I have ordered a Second NA to become 14A In Black. Both Locos will have Fosworks R/C installed, it has been a learning experience with installing and calibrating the Radio Control to say the least !!

#2 Some People may know this but early in January i was given a oppurtunity to purchase a Basically Brand New Accucraft War Department Hunslet 4-6-0 Tank, With Thanks to a Good Friend who also made me the 1912 Plates for my 12A and the set of 14A plates with the 1914 builders plates, he fitted WD 327 Plates with its Works Number 1239 . the real Loco Is Preserved at the Workshops Railway Museum in Ipswich Queensland.

#3 I have Placed an Order with Argyle Loco Works for a Roundhouse Harrogate Peckett 0-6-0 in BS 226 mid brunswick green. one loco i am looking forward to receiving Next April.

#4 I have purchased the total of 7 bachmann Jackson Sharps , 4 LGB Open passenger cars and 4 Bachmann side dump skips, the 4 Open Cars will be used as workers cars behind my plantation.

#5 The Progress on the new line has somewhat halted due to various life factors, but when it is up and running it will be worth it.

#6 Is it just me but i am tempted by a Darjeeling A class In Green or Red .......... More to come in future.

You really have the live steam bug Mitch. Can’t wait to see them all running together, although I guess you would need a few friends to play with them with you. :thumbright:
Shame I’m a few thousand miles away :lol :lol

Good to hear from you Rod, yes you are right in saying I’ll need a few friends with me to run my locos together haha.
Hoping to get started on a new railway soon, I also have got the 5” gauge bug thanks to some friends of mine and will Aquire a loco soon hopefully.
