They are great and you can easily make design changes too.

That's odd, mine can pull 2 Mamod coaches, a workmans coach and a closed workman's, and thats up the steep section on my line... Only with 2 AA power, and a IP four wheel drive set!

I never said they could pull a rain that could rival a 9Fs :lol:

they arnt the type of engine youd give a train of more of a few tippers anyway really.

mines pretty powerful as the original motor was broken before it was installed so I added something a bit more beefy

Perhaps Chris' does not have the 4w drive chain. I've got a couple of the budget chassis' with 4w drive sets, they more than pull enough, I enjoy my electrics as much as my steam, but in a different way.

No, I don't have the four wheel drive option. I was going to order the chain set when I ordered some coaches from IP.

But my Bertie came with coaches so I am delaying the order for now.

Just 'won' a coppercraft wagon on ebay, so going to see what that is like. They seem a cheap option for getting some more rolling stock.

Here we go...

As you can see it pauses for breath in a couple of places, which I quite like, so happy with that. Other than that all was going well until my wife came up the garden to ask how things were going. At which point it came off the rails, and I've gained a scratch in the paint work. oh well, it was going to happen sooner or later and at least I didn't buy it new.

Anyway, I know what the problem is, the track slopes (cambers) on one of the corners, so I just need to build that up a bit on the other side then all will be well.

Sorry for quality again. It has been compressed by movie maker to make it a smaller file for uploading, then photobucket does its damage.

I made a water tower and a coal staithe, so don't mind paying for a cheap hut.

When I have that I might have a go at a scratch build. Got a baked bean tin saved up to be some corrugated steel for a roof or something.

Got to get the approval of my wife so got to keep things looking good.

Still need to do a bit more fiddling, but that will have to wait until I find some more time.

This is the first time running a momod on my newly set up track. I am really chuffed with how well it went. The loco is called "Ford Prefect", additional low speed control supplied via exhaust regulator. It is cool and foggy here this morning, and the steam looked great.
