Should be a good day since there will no doubt be a plethora of pictorial permutations planned pending placement and preparation of the perambulating playthings!

It's that time of week again!

I think there needs to be a separate thread for the Butterley Pictures! Today started out rather interesting when the 142 I got on this morning failed in Sheffield Station itself, and were shoved onto a 158, but hey, I ain't complaining! There were several forum members around today which was also a bonus! I started off by giving Pheonix a ran, fresh out of overhaul

Image

DLRdan was also around running his accucraft Lawley

Image

This nackered old Lady Anne rattled around the layout, but despite it's condition still valiantly ran rather well!

Image

This had to be done....

Image

Image

From left to right: "Blue mamod", Dougal, Robin, Britomart, H.G.Butler, and Ogwen!

Image

I then rather bravely put a fire under H.G.Butler

Image

Which however had to stop for a blow up every 1/4 lap!

Image

Image

Britomart was then put into action, and then caused some worry with a jammed safety valve!

Image

Image

Pheonix was prepped once more while Britomart plods around

Image

Image

and then Britomart was left in the run round loop to await rescuing by Pheonix (while also sitting to test the new safety valve blow off point!)

Image

Pheonix comes to the rescue

Image

and then happily trundles around at a relaxed pace, while continually being threatened by MDLR's diesel!

Image

Image

Image

and while Pheonix ran around a small line up of the D&FGR's loco fleet was seen!

A rather interesting day today with the weather conditions as they were! and Cheers NM for the lifts once again! :D

And now I curse the Fates for being ill last night....!!!

A Lawley to examine for potential purchase of my own in the future and a Mamod loco lineup, with a felow tender engine too?!

Even had none of mine worked [but I can certify that Deep Thought and Phantom do, I would have thoroughly enjoyed today! :(

Don't suppose anyone will be going next week too...?

It was nice to see everyone everyone and had a great day followed by a very sureal conversation, more of this never. Not many pictures form me, too busy playing trains.

Another cracking little video! I'm glad you caught my one-and-only upper level train, and doesn't that Meccanno regulator handle show up well??

Another cracking video, Greg!
It would be nice to see all those Mamods (and more) at our Vintage and Oscillator Day.
It's held to coincide with the MRT's Vintage Weekend but we're not sure when that will be yet. We should know by the AGM.

I've been down to Butterley this afternoon.
Any of you missing a lunch-box?
It's sat in the club-house, all alone, with nobody to love it

Either way, it's safe :)

Well, today it was cool, and good steam plumes were seen, and also a far off travelling made his way to the depths of the Midland Railways Centre, however, below are literally all the photos I got from today, with much messing about with mamods!

Image

Britomart and Swordbreaker pose alongside each other

Image

Britomart has a hard day with slippy rails and heavy trains!

Image

and to finish it off The Westwood & Loscoe providied the power for "up top"

I think the steam effects will show just how cold it was today.....
