'Queen' looks quite interesting - is it a Kenversions Mamod or something?

No it was built by Peter Jones in the 1960's, to be honest it seems more to have been 'grown' by him as it is very heavy and there does not seem to be a joint anywhere on it! But there is a very thick coat of matte paint on it, I don't believe it was ever shiny! When I purchased it from him it wasn't running (it is battery run) at all as the gear box had gone and the running gear broken, and it had no roof to the cab. He sold it to me for £50 and said it needed some 'tlc' from someone who might look after it. I fell in love with her straight away and it didn't take much to get her going again. She is the Queen of the MPLR. :P

Ahhh, thanks for the info Mrs FC. :) Was wondering as I liked the look of the valve gear and pondered whether it was indeed a Mamod in disguise. But it wasn't. :)

Strange how locos associated with the CDR in one way or another have a certain magic about them, isn't it? ;)
