All lovely photos Rik, sorry I didn't play but I am not able to tell one loco from another, unless it's an image of the whole thing!
Could you post the cab I terror photo into the full size reference thread in this topic? It will make it easier to find in future.

Not that I've ever been, but I think it is 'Big Boy' at the National Railroad Museum’s Lenfestey Center.

Full marks on this one Peter! I've been coming to see this Big Boy since it was outside unprotected, and the Lenfestey Center has been a huge improvement.

Always fancied a Rivarossi HO gauge model as a shelf queen, they also made one in n gauge. I see Mth do one in O gauge .

When I started modeling 15mm/16mm scale I did a few calculations... Not only would a 16mm/foot Big Boy be bigger than my entire garden layout, but it would be very difficult to fit in my workshop!

Now that you know where, here's another guess what:

Not that clued up on railways across the pond, but to me it looks like a 1950s Ford or a Chevy concept DMU . Or maybe a Prop from Gerry Andersons Thunderbirds. I'll get me coat.

That's the one! The coaches were based on bus bodies, a bit like the Pacers, but they were unpowered and pulled by a streamlined locomotive. In addition to the builder's model pictured the museum also has one locomotive and two coaches, but it looks like I didn't get any pictures of the full-scale ones. Here's a video of it being moved a few years ago:

Thanks for playing everyone! Don't listen to the Cyberman, I enjoyed all answers of all degrees of correctness.

Getting back to Rik's original theme, we are on hols atm and this morning saw a very nice narrow gauge loco.

So... where are we/what is this?

Looks like a miniature railway loco to me - but as Peter says, it might be articulated. Wells & Walsingham??
