Thanks for the photos - that portable rack railway's bonkers, I love it! Wonder whether the 16mm Association board would invite it to Peterborough?

A trip to Zwingen on Sat. 13.09 for a steam day and a quick test of the new tender for my Regner Vincent. Early days yet, as the loco is going to get a new cab too, and the tender is still painted in works grey.

Looking good! I particularly like the tender frames in the Regner vernacular - I'm considering a tender for my Konrad and intend to use "L" angle and hex bolts to blend with the loco, but it hadn't occurred to me to use the same frame style, excellent! Are yours home-made? If I do steal the idea I might go for dummy frames, Swift 16 axlebox style, don't have to get 'em 100% accurate then...

Good eye. The frames are the same to get them to blend in. Not sure what the cab´s going to look like yet.

Testing begins for the new Double Fairlie Little Wonder, built by Stewart Browne of Archangel. And proceeded downstairs on the K&NWLR in the cellar where sadly no pics were made.

just out of interest, whats the minimum radius the little wonder will do, and how much did it cost?

1. Gets round my 2.5m radius inner loop curves on the K&NWLR
2. "Too much" or "just right", depending on who you ask here in the vicinity of the K&NWLR

Really like Vincent's tender, looks just right. I said it before, but I love the frames.

How have you joined loco and tender? I'm looking for ideas to pinch when I get round to building one for my Konrad... Could you get 'em closer together to make life a little less hazardous for the fireman?

The method for linking the tender and loco together is pinched from Roundhouse; a peg under the tender and a swivelling bracket underneath the loco with a number of holes punched in it. In this pic the tender is on the furthest hole from the peg, which could make the fireman a little nervous.

The original Archangel locos were all meths fired. And just ask Stewart and check out his Website.

Yesterday was traction engine day on the K&NWLR, as someone was asking about the scale of D.R. Mercer engines, but I´ve included the new Maxitrak / Accucraft one as well for comparison.

It´s been a programme of over two years, but the original Roundhouse locomotives, collected since around 1995, of the Kent branch of the K&NWLR have now all been serviced and are all in perfect running order again. Time for some works photos of the apple green fleet. Might even get round to nameplates and numbers now ...
