Updates to Boc's bank almost completed. The aim to make the steepest gradient on the line & a place for nedding steam loco's working hard (or manual ones running away down the bank) look more pleasing to the eye.

Will post some pics later but in a rush so heres a link of a little video I did to test how things were coming along.

Boc's Slateworks sidings also got cleaned up.

And with the line recieving new bogie coaches the old original 4 wheelers were hauled to Fox Road works for scrapping.

Is the culvert scratch-built? It looks ace

and have you expanded the slate works a bit as well as "cleaning up"

Yes I agree, that part was great. That "Carrie" is an excellent engine. It has the best "chuff" out of all your engines. It sounds like you have the timing spot on, and the Hackworth gear is interesting to watch. I really must try to acquire a "Carrie" some day if I can.

Looking good! I agree re the culvert - rarely modelled but a lovely touch. And that photo of the carriages awaiting scrapping is very poignant... I built some 4-wheelers a while back that I'm supposed to be grounding as lineside huts but I don't know if I'll ever be able to put my sentimentality aside long enough to actually do it...

Ages and ages ago the question was asked about gradients on the CVLR. Having visited today with measuring equipment, I can now reveal the answers. Mawll Bank is around 1 in 35; the bank by the sheds (between the C&W sidings and Chyknell) is 1 in 55. Box Bank (where Sir Haydn's boxcab came to grief, as indeed Wilberforce did today on a lengthy freight) comes out at 1 in 27.

Stupidly, I left my spirit level there - next step is to work out how to get it back!

It is still running, but Pendo Pilot posts all of his photos to the Facebook groups now. The railway also has its own Facebook page

It's a shame, isn't it? I don't currently use FB, mainly because I fear I may end up spending half my life there, but it does seem to be absorbing a lot of the content that was previously on forums and discussion groups.

There's so much support, advice and inspiration to be found online - if only everyone would just stay in one place!
