Mini update: the track and ground teams completed some much needed works on the Line this weekend. The return loop around village was lifted and all supporting timbers replaced with something more substantial. The old goods shed finally caved in during a heavy storm so a new sturdy shed was built in its place. On top of that the read screening along the station area was replaced with pallet wood giving a bit more support and helping define the edge of the lawn.

Forgot to add, due to the grs website no longer working woody bay station will be replaced with a Jackson miniatures peterchurch station which is due to arrive today

Slates are 0.8mm plasticard cut to 20mm x 25mm

You haven´t thought about using 1:12 doll house slates for roofing? I´m looking for someone who´s been down that road. Though I have to admit that plasticard seems to work for me too.

Doll house slates have arrived. I´m going to be using them first for paving outside the new Treddol real slate station.

Ok time for an update....

The station got 'finished' and is now in place with a few walls added around it to break up the space in the platform

The t&g team were out in the rain showers this evening replacing and repairing the point work. Their stunning job now means the passing area at the station works and the line can run as a dog bone with slip points while the passing loop is in use.

In carriage news one of the incomplete carriages has been moved to the shed for completion. The door vents should be fitting in the morning and then the exterior is ready to receive a coat of paint.

Loco news brings with it an exciting photo.... The bplr have acquired a part built manning wardle.

The plan is to combine the useful parts from this loco with the useful parts from the loco currently in the works shed to produce what will hopefully become the lines main loco.

Some updates on the line.... Ballast has been added. Fence has been painted and edging has been treated. Next on the to do list is to lift all the mamod track closest to the patio and replace in peco. Dad's line has fallen into disrepair and is being scrapped so all the track will be rehomed here. I think I need to add some more steaming bays but where these will be I struggling to see at the moment.

Anyway photos of the railway as it stand tonight

Open to suggestions as to what to do with regards to steaming bays

That's looking really smart.

Is there any option of adding a connection along the bottom fence line to the left of the return loop as you look down the garden? It's where the line is highest from the ground and it looks like the re might be enough room to squeeze a couple of steaming sidings in.

I your feeling adventurous it might be on to reduce the ground level a bit to give an even better working height for the steaming bays - provided you have somewhere to put the soil!

I have been considering adding a line across the end if the garden. But in theory anything is possible at this stage.
