I know Mr Isle may not like this if he sees it, but is it worth making Mr Isle 2 and re-starting, as I can't see him re-appearing after this length of time...

A possible problem would be what to do if the original inspector does reappear.

Over and above that, the original idea was that a single figure would "do the rounds" of members railways and have a photograph taken at each one - a variation on an idea which involved a wagon being passed from line to line, which worked really well on other forums and was a bit of fun.

It's no fun when people who genuinely want to be involved are kept waiting with no information about what's happening, and it's certainly no fun for any of the organisers who have to spend time trying to find out.

Sadly the "Inspection" saga seems to reflect a common trend where people are only too keen to volounteer something (how many times do we read "I'd like to take part in that", "I'll post photo's / videos later" etc only to have nothing appear?).

As for providing another figure, how often will individuals continue to spend time and effort for the benefit of the forum only to see it wasted?

I do not have a Garden Railway yet (need to build the Garden first!) so have not taken an active part in these Forum activities, although posted appropriate comments.

Sadly I agree with Greg's (Narrow Minded) views regarding the apathy here on the Forums.

This inspection project was a great idea but after a couple of good reports those members who had agreed to the commitments of taking part sadly did not live up to their commitments.

It will now require a witch hunt by our moderators to find out if indeed Victor is lost, or like previous occasions has just been abandoned again.

Chris Cairns.

It is bull!

At this rate it'll tak years for him to reach me and I had some good stuff planned.
Why's it so hard?! You recieveing the figure, take a few pictures, write a funny little report and then you send him on!

I would probably be done in a day a d at minimum it shouldn't take more than a week at most and if your apparently so busy you can't spare 30 minutes to take some pics and write a few paragraphs there's something seriously wrong, how do you even find the time to build a railway I wonder.

I have followed this and only put my name down a while ago, it was an exercise of trust and its embarrassing for all involved that even this minute clod of responsibility has gone off the wall.
A steam propelled life-style.

I can understand your frustration Pauly, and I can only feel sorry for you and the other forum members who want to take part only to have their plans scuppered.
It's why I dropped out ages ago!

I'm afraid the apathy seems to extend even further beyond the activities like the forum inspection, photo competition, the new video competition and the never-got-off-the-ground modelling challenge.
The forum certainly feels like a shadow of its former self, so no wonder some of the "old hands" are deserting it, but it's a great shame and a definite loss to our community.

Victor last reported from the WPSR on Jul 08 and was waiting for a steam up the following weekend.

Bryan (Sir Clothem Cap) last posted on the Forums on Jul 12. Anyone heard from Bryan since Jul 12 - I trust he is OK as it could explain the silence?

As far as I am aware Mr. Isle is in transit to the ANLR. I think deletion would be a bit drastic.

He still hasn't arrived here, which is annoying as I'd like to do some time critical fun things with him

No surprise there then. What delivery service is being used - Nigerian Airmail?
