So now it makes sense. When you said 'new' under £500 but not Accucraft, Roundhouse, Regner or RWM I was intrigued because I could not find a 'new' locomotive for that price from another manufacturer (excluding Mamod), assuming it was steam.
But now I understand it is a 'used' locomotive that will be 'new' to the DVLR. Sounds like the 45mm Beck Anna that did not sell at the Heritage Auction at Peterborough.
Chris Cairns.

She is currently at DLR Dan's for work. He has kindly taken a few piccies for me to pop up here...
Meet DVLR No. 4 River Tang
She is very pleasingly proportioned (got quite a bit about the southwold sharpies about her). She needs gas burner work, new cylinders (hence the add in the "wanted" section and various other bits and pieces. She will soon by DVLR standard livery (no real need for me to say that is there). She has a very short (mamod) wheel base and RC (which will be properly set up and self contained) so will be perfect for my line with its sharp corners and need for slow speeds. Thinking of adding motion covers like on the rye and camber locos to keep the grit from the quarry at bay (or to hide the ossilatiors)
I'm rather pleased with this one and think it will make a good addition to the fleet.

For an oscillating locomotive that does have some rather appropriate looking proportions, although the row of 4 screws either side of the smoke box could do with being hidden.
Must admit I do not recall this one in the Heritage Auction at Peterborough, but being 45mm I probably ignored it.
Look forward to seeing how slow it will run on R/C.
Chris Cairns.
