That'd be my best guess. With it lit try moving the collar over the inlet holes a smidgen at a time and see if things improve. If no difference, then try as Mike suggested in the thread he's linked to. Certainly sounds to me like it's got too much air (which could of course be a blocked jet- throttling the gas has the same effect on the air/ fuel ratio as giving it too much air!).
