Disclaimer!
I do not mean to offend anyone related to this product in what I am about to say. This is just my personal opinion.

Today I picked up the latest issue of Garden Rail. And to be quite honest I was rather disappointed with it. There weren't really any articles that interested me. The whole thing seemed a little bit, poor. For the third issue in a row we got articles that were just a continuation from the previous month.

Did anyone else notice this, or is it just me?

I already get too many railway magazines that I do not get too read much.

Looking through some Garden Rail magazines I have there is not enough content to justify me getting another subscription. And it is difficult to get some of their back issues. Still trying to get No. 108 with the Cheddar/GRS Tram review.

I almost agree with you Bungle, I must admit to enjoying John Rogers' article ofn building a hut, has given me a few ideas.

I'm using your Disclaimer in what I'm about to say.
Aren't those articles about 'Atmosphere' totally c**p??? Nothing happens in them, they don't give any advice and if it does then it's rubbish advice (don't use figures, where's the fun in that?). the pictures are pretty that's about all!

Yeah, I thought that about the atmosphere articles, I thought we were going to get some great advice on making a garden railway atmospheric, insted my eyes just glaze over whenever I try to read it, although the pics are nice as Will says. But better things are on the horizon, SLRmidge is writing another article, this week he phoned me up asking permission to use a photo that had me in it

Yeah, there haven't been many good articles recently. I've got one ready to send of, but I'm using the same disk for my DT coursework.

SLRmidge's articles are always of a good standard. I have one here that needs finishing, one day.......perhaps after these next couple of pieces of English coursework!

PTLRsam had the same phone call from Midge!

I have to be honest, the Atmosphere articles are PRECISELY what I was on about! Looking through the mag I worked out that the author, Ian Stock is one of the guys behind the Railway Channel, and in the New Products section Mr Gorton talks about how his wife even watched it due to some narrow boat or something. Can I point you in the direction of page 16. Dont really know what my point is with that bit. With regard to not liking figures because they are too static, when you take an ATMOSPHERIC picture, does it show a moving image? Hmmmm?!?

I must admit, I don't buy Garden Rail very often, but it does seem to have gone downhill over the last few years. In fact, I haven't bought an issue for a few years now because every time I flick through one on a newstand, I just never see any articles that really catch my eye.

On the other hand, I got the latest copy of 16mm Today through my letterbox, well, today, and it looks like a great read

The latest edition of 16mm Today is truly superb, verry well layed out. Tryed to convince my mum to lend me £500 for that bargain RH 'Russell' in the sales section.

Has anyone noticed the publication of a couple of forum members true identities in one of the articles of SMT...?

I must say that the new editor has done a supurb job, that is one of the best editions of Sixteen mill today i've read and the articles included are great, and the new layout is nice as well.

It's an article by Mr NWAG himself Dave Birkby of some NWAG steamups, quite a few nice piccies plus im mentioned in the text, Dave describing my coaches as exquisite

My parents swear my head has doubled in size! One of the PTLR pics shows the infamous Accucraft NGG16

I too am not impressed with the content of Garden Rail. For such a small magazine you would have thought they would use interesting articles. Hence why I have decided not to purchase it anymore.
